On September 11th, myself and The Long Walk Home kicked off the Walk Across America in the Florida Keys! For the next nine months, we will be walking all the way to San Diego, CA to bring awareness to the veteran suicide crisis and advocate for life-saving programs.
Each day, we will carry the sign displaying the name of a veteran who was lost to suicide. Thus far we have acknowledged Rick Smith, John Coutcher (Army), Micheal G. Knight (Army), Todd Rusell (Marines), and Edward Cole Hidrader (Air Force). We will also be carrying a Long Walk Home flag for everyone who walks with us to sign.
We hope that you will join us in this movement and help us create a brighter future for veterans in the United States. There are many ways to get involved. You can walk with us, make a tribute to a veteran in your life who was lost to suicide, become a sponsor, or donate.
