Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
ASIST is Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
This is a 2 day in-person Workshop. Registration is required. A $100- deposit is required at the time of registration and will be refunded after participation and certification is received.
The Long Walk Home Organization believes this workshop to be very effective. After the workshops we held, 80% of participants said they would intervene a person at risk of suicide but prior to class only 20% would intervene. Don’t wait until it’s too late to save someone.
There is no charge to Veterans, their adult family members, & supporters.
The registration deposit of $100 will be refunded after the workshop is attended (unless you prefer to pay-it-forward). If you don’t show up or have to cancel, the fee is forfeited as a donation.
Lunch is usually included both days.
Most ASIST workshops begin at 9:00 am and finish at 4:00 pm for two days in a row and are usually held on weekends. This is a 2 day course. You will go home at night and come back in the morning. If you live more than 1 hour away, we can help you with arrangements for accomodations.
Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety. One of our trainers on The Long Walk Home staff, Ron Newhouse, is a 22-year veteran and he has led 23 ASIST Workshops.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED due to limited capacity. The registration deposit of $100 is to hold your place and will be refunded (unless you want us to keep it in support of this program) after the workshop is attended both days. The deposit will be forfeited if you don’t show up or have to cancel.
This powerful workshop is an $800.00 value (per person) that is sponsored by The Long Walk Home. Many thanks to Campaign 22 members for helping us fund this!
